This systems performs electrophoresis with submerged
horizontal gels that offer many advantages for nucleic acid and
protein separations and a primary tool for molecular biology research.
Four different systems are available; Mini Submarine Electrophoresis
Unit, Submarine Electrophoresis Unit, GenePhor Electrophoresis Unit
and MultiPhor II Electrophoresis System.
Mini Submarine Electrophoresis Unit
Hoefer HE 33
This
horizontal agarose unit is intended for rapid electrophoresis of
small quantities of nucleic acids in agarose gels. The base of the
unit holds coolant that can be chilled before the run. This passive
cooling capacity allows fast, high voltage runs.

Max. wattage: 15 W
Max. Current: 500 mA
Coolant required: ~600 ml 50/50 water/ethylene glycol
Gel size: 7 x 10 cm
Size of the nucleotide to be separated: to 23 kb pairs
Submarine Electrophoresis Unit
Hoefer HE 99X
This
unit electrophoretically separates nucleic acid fragments in a submarine
gel. Gels can be casted in three different lengths.

Size of the nucleotide to be separated: to 23 kb pairs
GenePhor Electrophoresis Unit
GenePhor
Electrophoresis Unit is a compact, temperature controlled, flatbed
electrophoresis unit that requires no liquid running buffer and
provides clean, efficient separation of DNA fragments for detection
by isotopic or non-isotopic methods. With the touch of a button,
the integrated solid-state Peltier cooling system can achieve any
temperature between 5 and 65°C within minutes, reducing lengthy
equilibration time. More importantly, the cooling system and safety
lid assure even, stable temperature over the entire gel surface
throughout the run, a critical factor for consistent separations
using temperature-sensitive techniques.
Applications
It is designed for DNA applications such as electrophoretic
analysis of,
PCR fragments,
restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP),
heteroduplex analysis, single strand conformation polymorphism
analysis (SSCP),
random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) and
variable number of tandem repeats (VNTR).
Specifications
Max. voltage: 1000 V
Power consumption max.: 100 W
Programming temperature range: 5.0-65.0°C
Dimensions (WxDxH): 2380 x 350 x 150 mm
Multiphor II Electrophoresis Systems
This
electrophoresis system is a versatile modular system for horizontal
electrophoresis for both Nucleotide fragment and protein analysis.
The modular design of Multiphor? II gives it the flexibility to
handle virtually any flatbed electrophoretic technique. It is particularly
well-suited for ultra-thin gels (0.1-0.5-mm) on glass or plastic
supports up to 20 × 26 cm. In addition to accommodating gels
of different sizes, the electrodes make secure, uniform contact
with various types of buffer strips, eliminating the need for large
volumes of liquid buffers.
Applications
Configure the system for 1-D or 2-D protein electrophoresis,
isoelectric focusing, or DNA fragment analysis.
Select from a wide range of precast gels or cast your own gels
for unique applications.
Allows cooling of ultra-thin gels efficiently and uniformly,
through the ceramic cooling plate, for improved resolution and
speed at high voltages.
To be used with adjustable electrodes allowing the use of different
sized gels.

Max. power: 100 W
Max. pressure cooling plate: 0.5 bar
Dimensions: 16 x 31 x 40 cm
Size of the nucleotide to be separated: to 23 kb pairs
